Our team spent last week in Chicago for Sage Summit, where we heard impressive keynote speeches from top notch speakers. We were awestruck when Sir Richard Branson talked about his Virgin Galactic project, and Gwyneth Paltrow showed how, through self-education and tenacity, you can become a business owner with a purpose.
If you couldn't make it to Chicago, we want to share a recap of Sage Summit 2016, along with what's coming down the pipeline, community commitments, and what you can expect to see from Sage in the next year and beyond.
Key Takeaways from Sage Summit
In Chicago, we learned about Sage, of course – they seem to have gone back to their roots as a technology company, and it showed in all the things they presented as well as in their mantra to leap-frog the competition through innovation.
There were other major key takeaways from Sage Strategic Vision, including that:
- ANY existing customer can remain on their current ERP and continue to receive support as long as they are a Sage customer.
- Sage partnered with Salesforce and built a full cloud solution called Sage Live that can virtually connect to any system built on the same platform. This means that businesses won't have to build so many integrations.
- Sage has moved to an internal human capital management (HCM) system.
- Sage Enterprise Management People, an HRM system that is fully developed using the Sage Enterprise Management development tools, will be available with all taxes, payroll, and compliance for the U.S. market by the middle of 2017.
